Lead Floral Designer - Full-Time

This position reports to the General Manager

As a Lead Floral Designer, you will plan, organize, train and lead a high volume, fast paced retail floral department. Create quality seasonal and evergreen arrangements using design and display strategies to drive sales and create an exceptional customer experience. You will work closely with General Manager to communicate standards of excellence to the Design Team . Your responsibilities also include reinforcing safety and proper flower handling practices, particularly for rare or delicate strains.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively upholds the design and service standards of All A’Bloom Flowers & Gifts, driving sales by using a consultative approach to create customized product presentations to retail, residential, funeral, corporate, wedding and small event clients in store and on-site
  • Conceptualize and execute design projects, including seasonal & holiday design catalogs for website, daily, event, and funeral, incorporating innovative use of colors, floral and textural materials and vessels, while meeting established criteria for All A’Bloom aesthetic and cost of goods
  • Lead team of designers by contributing to a productive and cohesive work environment that provides an exemplary client experience
  • Work cooperatively with the General manager, Event Coordinator, and Sales Team to build new client relationships and developing prospects through networking. Including building and maintaining relationships with retail, corporate, funeral homes, event clients, catering managers, venues, etc.
  • Maintain timely correspondence during sales process with client and vendors, and responsible for follow-up communication to clients to ensure 100% satisfaction
  • Manage floral product needs and partner with select third party vendors for daily design and event décor including ordering all floral related products and materials – flowers vases decorations containers and much more
  • Maintaining records of invoices, receiving, and waste control, and achieving department merchandising goals in cooperation with the General Manager, Event Coordinator, and Retail Team
  • Hire and train Design Team
  • Perform keyholder responsibilities as needed

Candidate Attributes:

  • Significant hands-on floral design experience in a high-volume studio or retail environment is required
  • Previous experience as a Lead Designer or Design Manager position
  • Previous success in efficiently and professionally meeting and exceeding client expectations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required

Other:

Full-time position, with flexible work schedule required, including weekend availability; peak business periods will require extended work days and work weeks
