Horticulturist / Golf Course Landscape Technician
Job Description: Prepares and maintains golf course grounds to include landscape beds. Assists with maintenance of the golf course to include mowing and maintenance of greens, fairways, and other golf course surfaces as required, ensuring compliance with all golfing regulations and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages club landscaping needs of the property to include all plantings, beds, inside and outside planters.
Assists in maintaining the golf courses beds, trees, and shrubs.
Assists in special construction projects as required.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16-18 per hour
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Knowledge of landscaping maintenance and care of trees, shrubs and flowers.
Golf course maintenance activities to include placement of tees and pins, irrigation techniques, and turf care.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Position requires: a) Preparing and maintaining club landscaped areas, golf course greens, fairways and other surfaces; b) Operating and maintaining greenkeeping equipment
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
