Responsibilities






  • Bioswale maintenance, that can include separation and removal of proper vegetation.

  • Perform propagation, irrigation, and pest management of plants.
  • Control plant growth regulation through mixing and testing fertilizers and monitor any injectors that are being utilized.
  • Manage scheduling for timing of appropriate planting.
  • Operate equipment such as trucks, tractors, and sprayers.
  • Responsible for maintaining required knowledge of established garden plants and understanding the cultural requirements to maintain their growth and cultivation.
  • Perform and support horticultural practices that facilitate plant health through understanding soil nutrition, sustainable gardening, and integrated pest management.
  • Turf and lawn maintenance.








Qualifications






Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 

Knowledge

Ground maintenance knowledge is preferred and understanding how to use and operate lawn care equipment is helpful.

 

Abilities

The work can be repetitive and physically demanding. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers. Must be able to work independently and also part of a team environment.

 

Experience, Education, and Training

Post-Secondary education is beneficial but not required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in horticulture, botany, or natural sciences degree, or at least 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification of a Pesticide Applicator’s License is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires constant standing, walking, forward reaching, pedal control and grasping; frequent head turning, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, handling, climbing and reaching. Candidate must be able to lift and carry 50lbs and also push and pull a push mower seasonally.

 

Miscellaneous Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc. The physical is job specific and will test strength and mobility.
