About the Role:

Petal Productions is seeking an exceptional creative and operational leader to serve as Head of Floral Production & Head Designer. This dual-function role is central to everything we create — you will be the artistic vision behind our floral work while ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and at the highest standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Direction

∙ Lead all floral design across weddings, events, and installations, establishing and maintaining a cohesive aesthetic identity for the brand

∙ Develop custom concepts for clients and collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure designs align with client expectations, budgets, and proposals

∙ Stay ahead of industry trends and bring fresh, innovative ideas to the team

Production Management

∙ Oversee end-to-end floral production, from sourcing and procurement to final installation and breakdown

∙ Manage relationships with growers, wholesalers, and suppliers to ensure quality, availability, and cost efficiency

∙ Build and maintain production schedules and workflows to handle multiple concurrent events and projects

∙ Implement and enforce quality control standards across all stages of production

Team Leadership

∙ Recruit, train, and mentor a team of floral designers and production staff

∙ Foster a collaborative, creative, and high-performance studio culture

∙ Delegate effectively and provide hands-on guidance during high-volume periods

Business Operations

∙ Collaborate with ownership and sales on pricing, budgeting, and profitability

∙ Monitor inventory, reduce waste, and optimize the use of perishable materials

∙ Contribute to marketing efforts including portfolio photography, social media content, and brand storytelling

Qualifications

∙ 5+ years of professional floral design experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role

∙ Demonstrated portfolio spanning weddings, corporate events, and large-scale installations

∙ Strong knowledge of floral varieties, seasonality, and conditioning best practices

∙ Proven experience managing production timelines and coordinating logistics for multi-event schedules

∙ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a collaborative approach to working cross-functionally with sales

∙ Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team

∙ Proficiency in floral design software and standard business tools is a plus
