Floral Designer

Deer Run Florist is seeking a creative, detail-oriented floral designer to join our busy shop on a part-time or seasonal basis. This role involves designing beautiful arrangements using both fresh and faux flowers and contributing to our in-store displays. The right candidate will have a strong artistic ability, an eye for detail, and a good understanding of color theory and design principles. Both experienced designers and those eager to learn are encouraged to apply — training will be provided for the right candidate.

Pay Range: Hourly range is for novice designers. Dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design fresh and faux floral arrangements for occasions, special events, homes, and offices
• Follow shop standards for quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
• Work with a wide variety of flowers, foliage, and materials
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and care for floral materials
• Assist with custom installations and shop displays
• Support other shop tasks as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Floral design experience preferred, but training provided for the right candidate
• Comfortable working with both fresh and faux flowers
  Strong creative eye and high attention to detail
• Physical requirements: stand for long periods; bend, reach, kneel, squat; lift up to 40 lbs; comfortable using ladders
  Availability for Valentine’s Day week, Mother’s Day week, and the Christmas season
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Positive, team-oriented attitude

Interview Process

• Candidates will participate in an interview and a bench test to demonstrate floral design skills
