Coordinate floral arrangement orders, delivery, and set-up for various funeral and cemetery services. Deliver floral arrangements. May perform cashier duties and provide customer service regarding products and cost.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Administration

  • Prepares schedule ensuring floral arrangements are prepared in time for scheduled delivery. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments on floral issues, discuss options, and work with floral team on implementing solutions.
  • Inspects and verifies flower vendor deliveries for quality and quantity; identifies issues to delivery personnel and floral manager for resolution.  Transports deliveries to refrigeration, adds water to buckets as needed, cuts floral stems as directed.
  • May assist with floral design preparation such as cutting stems to appropriate length, removing thorns, adding water vessels to stems, cutting ribbon, or similar.
  • Sweeps floors, wipes down tabletops, returns supplies to storage, and maintains an orderly floral room.

Customer Service (applicable to locations with a storefront)

  • Greets visitors and answers phone calls regarding the purchase of floral products.  Professionally answers guest’s questions, quotes products pricing, and offers product suggestions.  Writes down and confirms orders; may input orders in databases.  May wrap and/or bags purchases.
  • Receives and records cash and credit card for the purchase of products.  Follows recordkeeping procedures to secure money and customer financial information.  

Delivery, as applicable

  • Transport floral arrangements to destination ensuring arrangement is un-damaged; may make minor adjustments to arrangement. 
  • Safely Drives Company owned vehicles for deliveries or errands.  Maintains company vehicles.

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certification/License

  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required

Experience

  • Professional or personal experience in floriculture, horticulture, and/or design is desired
  • Proficient with MS Office and databases

Work CONDITIONS

Work Environment

  • Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions

Work Postures

  • Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
  • Limited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling required
  • Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently

Physical Demands

  • Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage

Work Hours

  • Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises

Compensation:

Salary: $17.00/hr.
