Position Summary

Located in beautiful Cherry Hills Village, Glenmoor Country Club is a family-oriented, upscale, non-tipping private golf and social club featuring an 18-hole Pete Dye-designed golf course, dining and event facilities, racquet sports, swimming, and year-round member programming.  We are seeking an experienced and creative Catering & Events Director to lead the planning, design, coordination, and execution of private events, member functions, and other special events.

This highly visible, member-facing role oversees the full event lifecycle—from initial inquiry and concept development through planning, execution, billing, and post-event follow-up. The Director partners closely with members, guests, Club leadership, Culinary, Food & Beverage, and other departments to create exceptional experiences while supporting the Club’s event sales, financial goals, and service standards.

Event Planning, Design & Member Experience
  • Lead the planning, design, and coordination of private events, weddings, celebrations, meetings, member events, golf and racquets functions, and other special events hosted at the Club.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members and clients, conducting consultations and Club tours, understanding event vision, priorities and budgets, and providing creative recommendations regarding room layouts, décor, florals, menus, entertainment, and other event elements.
  • Develop and maintain BEOs, event timelines, room diagrams, function sheets, and other event documentation and communicate event details and special requests to appropriate Club departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with outside vendors and stay current on event, hospitality, wedding, and design trends to continually elevate Glenmoor’s event experience.

Event Execution & Operations

  • Maintain the Club’s master event calendar and communicate upcoming events, changes, staffing needs, and operational requirements across departments.
  • Lead pre-event coordination and maintain a visible, hands-on presence during events, overseeing setup, décor, service flow, timing, and the overall member and guest experience.
  • Anticipate and resolve member concerns, last-minute changes, and operational challenges quickly and professionally.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up and evaluate events to identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, service, and future event offerings.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty as scheduled or needed to support overall Club operations.

Financial, Sales & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Develop event proposals, estimates, contracts, and related documentation and promote the sale and use of Glenmoor’s event facilities and offerings.
  • Partner with Food & Beverage leadership, the Executive Chef, and Culinary Team on menu development, event offerings, and pricing.
  • Develop catering and event budgets, monitor revenue, expenses and vendor costs, review financial performance, and take appropriate action to support established financial goals.
  • Ensure contracts, deposits, event charges, billing, client files, and other required documentation are accurate, complete, and processed timely.
  • Ensure required permits are obtained and applicable Club policies and state and local requirements related to food and alcoholic beverage service are consistently followed.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and support the Catering & Events team, including the Banquet Manager, Catering Assistant, and approximately 12–15 event staff, with responsibility for hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and coordination of temporary or supplemental event staffing as needed.
  • Partner closely with Banquet, Culinary, Food & Beverage, and other Club departments to ensure appropriate staffing, preparation, communication, service standards, and seamless event execution.
  • Communicate expectations and service goals clearly and foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment that reflects Glenmoor’s standards for professionalism, teamwork, service, and accountability.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in event planning, catering, hospitality, private golf/country clubs, hotels, resorts, luxury venues, or a related environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, event management, business, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience independently planning, designing, and executing complex, high-touch events, with strong creative capabilities and prior experience creating and managing BEOs.
  • Experience working directly with discerning members, clients, or guests in a high-service environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of event sales, budgets, pricing, vendor management, and financial performance.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, and event- or club-management technology, with the ability to quickly learn Glenmoor’s systems.

Portfolio / Work Samples

Candidates will be asked to provide a portfolio or representative examples of events they have personally planned, designed, or executed. Examples may include event photographs, design concepts, room layouts, event proposals, menus, or other materials demonstrating creativity, attention to detail, and the candidate’s level of responsibility for the event.

Work Environment & Schedule

This is an on-site hospitality leadership position requiring a flexible schedule based on Glenmoor Country Club operations and scheduled events, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as necessary. The position includes a combination of office work and active event oversight throughout the Club.

The position requires the ability to walk and stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
