Assistant Event Florist

The Assistant Event Florist works closely with the Floral Design Manager to ensure all events have the proper set up. This includes potentially meeting with the Members to determine their event goals and then creating and developing the floral and event concepts and designs for the variety of Club and private member events at the Club to include, but not limited to; arranging flowers into displays using live, dried, or silk flowers by fashioning them into bouquets and table centerpieces for different events and occasions. Assists with the set-up, execution, and cleanup of events. This position also works closely with other departments, especially Food & Beverage, to ensure each event exceeds Member expectations.  

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with the Floral Design Manager and Events Planning Manager in arranging the floral design arrangements and props for parties, luncheons, dinners, meetings, weddings, dances, and other social events while ensuring that excellent services are provided.
• Assist Event Managers in the decorating of selected rooms for events.
• Create and modify floral displays within Club to enhance décor.
• Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
• Receive, process and condition the flowers.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
• Trim the flowers using wires, pins, foam, trimmers, and other suitable instruments.
• Deliver, setup, and remove floral arrangements before and after all events.
• Performs special projects as assigned.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures, memos, and oral instructions.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License in order to drive company vehicles and golf carts. 

• Three (3) years experience working with florals required.
• Experience putting flower arrangements together, preparing containers, processing flowers when they get delivered such as opening boxes and putting flowers in water, sterilizing buckets and breaking down boxes.
• Attention to detail.
• Requires the individual to maintain flexible availability, will work weekends, evenings, and holidays.  
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time. 
• Must be able to use a ladder up to 8 feet.
• Must be able to breakdown cardboard boxes.
• Must be able to stand in one place for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift items overhead.

Pay & Benefits: This is a seasonal, part-time, hourly position. Hours are based upon member needs, which includes working evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
