Description

Position Summary

The Horticulturist is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of all landscaped and ornamental areas throughout the Club. This role plays a key part in enhancing the overall aesthetics and member experience by ensuring that flower beds, planters, gardens, and clubhouse grounds are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plant, and maintain seasonal flower beds, container displays, and ornamental landscapes across the property
  • Develop and execute annual and seasonal planting plans aligned with the Club’s aesthetic vision
  • Maintain shrubs, trees, and non-turf landscaped areas, including pruning, fertilization, and pest control
  • Monitor plant health and  proactively address disease, pests, and environmental stress
  • Collaborate with the Grounds Superintendent on overall property presentation and long-term landscape planning
  • Oversee irrigation needs for landscaped areas and ensure efficient water usage
  • Maintain inventory of plants, materials, and supplies; assist with ordering and budgeting
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with Club policies and industry standards

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance (country club or high-end property experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of plant materials, seasonal rotations, and regional growing conditions
  • Familiarity with pest and disease management practices
  • Ability to operate landscaping equipment and tools safely
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing environments

Working Conditions

  • Primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Physical demands include lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods

Compensation

  • Base Rate Range: $23 - $28 an hour
  •  This is a seasonal position running through October 31; however, we are seeking an individual interested in returning each season and growing with us in a long-term, ongoing role.
