We’re hiring a lead floral designer and studio manager to work, often independently, in our beautiful sunny, riverside studio (not a retail space) elbows deep in incredible flowers. This is a year-round position, with weekly hours ranging from 20–40 hours, depending on the season.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated, very skilled floral designer who takes pride in managing their own work, holds themselves to the highest standards, and can manage both creative focus and operational responsibility. You’ll work solo much of the time, with collaboration as needed for weddings, installs, flower holidays, and special projects.
The Work
- Create exceptional floral arrangements for daily deliveries and weddings, using seasonal materials and artful design
- Design across a range of styles while maintaining consistently high quality standards
- Photograph and take short videos of work regularly, both in the studio and on-site at weddings
- Manage/collaborate with studio workers including other florists, freelancers, and delivery drivers
- Manage studio inventory and supplies
- Order flowers for daily arrangements following company standards, prioritizing local sourcing when possible
- Coordinate orders and deliveries with our delivery driver
- Develop new designs/vessels for seasonal and special offerings
- Head up styled shoots and editorial projects quarterly
- Occasional wedding delivery and on-site wedding setup
- Track floral design trends and contribute to ideas for social media content
- Create wreaths October-December
- Ability to just schedule as needed to accommodate wedding work (generally 4 days per week, 20–40 hours)
- Administrative tasks, like newsletters, ordering, client communication
