The Environmental Conservation and Horticulture Department at Finger Lakes Community College is seeking innovative and adaptable educators committed to student engagement, excellence in teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration. HRT-131: Floral Design
This course provides students with the principles and techniques of professional floral design � from basic arrangements to advanced compositions. Candidates must have demonstrable expertise in working with a variety of cut flowers and plant materials as well as the ability to teach both creative design concepts and practical business aspects of floral management.

Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of the current subject area.
Implements course outcomes based on the master syllabus.
Prepare and distribute an updated course outline specific to the sections taught.
Prepares and creates lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities for students.
Teaches courses and evaluates student performance.
Maintains accurate student records.
Submits pertinent data to the department and/or the College.
Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma with five or more years of experience in the preparation, ordering, and presentation of cut flowers and plant materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified plant designer (e.g., American Institute of Floral Designers) with an established portfolio and five or more years of professional experience.
Teaching experience in floral design courses or workshops.
Additional Information:
Adjunct rate of pay for the 2025-2026 Academic Year is $1,087 per contact hour
